All of the questions on the Classroom Winners website are Multiple-Choice Questions, with only one correct answer.  Simply click on the correct answer and submit it. 

All questions are sorted by Examination, Subject and Topic (within the Subject).  So, for example, you could filter questions according to Leaving Cert – Maths – Algebra or Junior Cycle – Maths – Statistics.

Leaving Certificate – Mathematics – Higher Level – Probability

Question: How many different ways can the numbers 1, 2 and 3 be arranged?

Answers:

Correct Answer: c) 6

Explanation: 3 x 2 x 1 = 6 different ways

 

Sample Question 2

Leaving Certificate – Mathematics – Ordinary Level – Complex Numbers

Question: If z=0+3i, find 2z.

Answers:

  1. 6i
  2. 6
  3. 18i
  4. 2 + 3i

Correct Answer: a) 6i

Explanation: When multiplying a complex number by a constant, we multiply the constant by each of the terms of the complex numbers. In this case, this gives us 2(0) +2(3i) = 6i

 

Sample Question 3

Junior Cycle – Mathematics – Higher Level – Financial Maths

Question: A transition year mini company produces small cakes at a cost of €1.20 each and sells them for €2.50. Calculate the profit that the mini company will make if they sell 50 cakes during a bake sale.

Answers:

  1. €60
  2. €65
  3. €125
  4. €50

Correct Answer: b) €65

Explanation: Profit = €1.30 x 50 cakes = €65
